Teacup Beagle Temperament
Lively, curious and always gentle, Teacup beagles are best suited for homes with children. They gel well with other pets, including dogs, and are calm and loving with children. However, they can be slightly tricky around non-canine pets. Intelligent, they run on a mind of their own and require to be trained at a very early age. Firm, positive reinforcement training works best, with rewards given on completion of a task. Family oriented, they do not like to be alone. Their pack-oriented nature makes them want to be around their family all the time. Teacup beagles are prone to separation anxiety if left alone for long periods. In such a case, buying two for company can help them get over it, and not feel left alone. Active and full of energy, they love physical exercise. Not only does exercise keep them calm, it will also keep them happy. Curious, they love to explore, and should be taken out only when suitably trained to follow orders. Their loud baying cry when hunting is characteristic, but can be disturbing in residential areas. They are more of an outdoor dog, and tend to get restless and snappy if they do not get adequate exercise and outdoor activity. They are very energetic and have a lot of stamina, making them suitable pets for homes with young children, or for active adults.
